On Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at noon, Ron Goss, owner of Pennant Construction Management, will discuss the preservation of the 1876 Conyers-Goss home, affectionately referred to as “White Columns.”
Constructed in 1876 by James B. Conyers, 91 Market Street (now 120 W. Cherokee Avenue) was an ornately decorated Victorian home situated a block from Cartersville’s developing square. With the influence of the newly built Gold Dome Courthouse in 1903, the home underwent a radical facelift that transformed it into “White Columns”. After sitting vacant for nearly a quarter of a century, the home has been completely restored by Pennant Construction Management as both an office for the company and the private residence of its owners Ron & Lorie Goss.
