Atlanta’s NBC Affiliate 11 Alive News is coming to Downtown Cartersville
“This is Home” filmed live on Friday, August 9
Highlighting various metro Atlanta communities from May through August, 11Alive’s “This is Home” segment will feature Cartersville on Friday, August 9. Coverage will begin at 4:30 am and run through the entire morning news broadcast which ends at 7:00 am. Similar in format to the popular “Today Show,” large crowds are asked to attend the filming armed with smiles, posters promoting Cartersville, and lots of energy.
Two of 11Alive morning news anchors will be stationed in downtown Cartersville in front of The Grand Theatre. Crowds will gather around the anchors who will be interviewing members of the audience, as well as introducing a variety of local talent scheduled to appear including dancers from Cartersville School of Ballet, students from the local schools, members of CLASH soccer, girls scouts and more. The morning show producer and team are lining up all the entertainment scheduled, but you never know who might be pulled out of the crowd to show off his talent, or asked to share her favorite thing about Cartersville!
Interested individuals might consider dressing in their school colors, making posters in support of their favorite team, local cause, or shop, or coming up with another creative way to show 11Alive viewers all the pride Cartersville has in our community.
Set an extra alarm clock and have plenty of coffee ready to head to the Grand Theatre in downtown Cartersville on Friday, August 9, from 4:30 to 7:00 am for the 11Alive segment, “This is Home” being filmed live. The parking lots on Wall Street will be closed for the event, but plenty of parking will be available along Museum Drive, Public Square, Under the Bridge and in Founders Oak Park – across from City Hall.
