Beauty and the Beast is the stage adaptation of the Disney motion picture with music by Alan Menken, Lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice, and Book by Linda Wolverton. This production is presented in conjunction with Music Theatre International. The show tells the story of a prince who is transformed into a
hideous beast as punishment for his cruel and selfish ways, and an adventurous young woman named Belle whom he imprisons in his castle. In order to become human again, the Beast must earn Belle's love before it's too late. The show is rated G.
Leading the cast this year are Victoria Staley as Belle and Christopher Sferra as the Beast. Belle’s father, Maurice, is portrayed by Alec Hamm and the devious Monsieur D’Arque is played by Jackson Cole. In the village Derrick Chapman plays the narcissistic Gaston with Noah Ragus as his sidekick Lefou . His admirers, the silly girls, are played by Lucy Haney, Molly Layne, and Tessa Thornbrough. Serving as the enchanted member sof the household are Tyler Bucher as Lumiere, Clay Barton as Cogsworth, Kady King as Babbette, Caroline Rhodes as Mrs. Potts, Kevin Barnhart as Chip, and Olivia Smith as Madame de la Grande Bouche. Rounding out the cast as villagers and enchanted castle residents are Murillo Barbosa, Allison Barnes, Jessica Branton, Katie Collum, Garrett Davis, Jake Delaughter, Luke Evans , Cody Fowler, Courtney Fox, Alex Gilbert, Meredith Hamm, Hayden Johnson, Jacob King, Sydney Roberts, Elena Sanders, and Sarah Strickland. Directing this year’s performance are Erin Gunter and Morgan McCrary with musical direction by Warren Kennedy.
