Join us in the computer lab at the Cartersville Library as we explore family history topics, learn new skills and share tips and tricks. No registration required. Bring your own electronic device or use a library computer.

    Land Records: The Cornerstone of Georgia Genealogy - Learn the history of how land was distributed in Georgia, including how the headright system and our unique land lotteries worked. We'll talk about how to find where your ancestor lived, and the unexpected information knowing which hill or holler they lived in can reveal--even if your ancestor never owned land! You'll also learn hands on methodology, including how to find land records that you might not even realize are land records.
