Tireside Chats - Movie Cars: Behind the Scenes
Saturday, June 1, 2024, 7:00 PM
Have you ever been watching a movie and questioned the "who/what/where/why/how" aspects of the vehicles used on screen? If so, this is the program for you!
Join us on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 7:00 pm in the Presentation Theatre at Savoy Automobile Museum to learn the tricks of the trade from Tim Woods, a Picture Car Coordinator with over 25 years in the industry and over 70 movies and TV shows to his credit. Tim has worked on projects such as: "Killers of the Flower Moon," Spider-Man: No Way Home," "The Highwaymen," "Jackie," "Steve Jobs," "The Hangover Part III," "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol," "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra," "Star Trek," "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull," and "2 Fast 2 Furious."
Most movie production companies have specific cars in mind when planning shoots and scenes. However, locating requested vehicles - like vintage cars, period-correct cars, stunt cars, unique cars, or any other requested vehicle is the job of a picture car coordinator. In addition to finding the appropriate vehicles, picture car coordinators are responsible for modifications, the oversight of painters, fabricators, and mechanics, as well as staying within strict budgets and adhering to a rigid timetable.
The Savoy Café will remain open for dinner before the start of the program; the Café will close at 7:00 pm. Savoy Museum will remain until 9:00 pm on Saturday, June 1, 2024. The museum is located at 3 Savoy Lane in Cartersville, GA.
