Job Summary
This position assists in overseeing the daily operations of the Georgia Highlands College finance and administration operations including management of the $50M budget, auxiliary services, and accounting areas. This position also serves as the point of contact for all internal and external audit engagements.
This position supervises employees and reviews work through conferences, reports, and observation of department activities. This position has direct supervision for the Controller (1), Auxiliary Customer Service (3), VPFA Administrative Assistant (1), Accounts Payable Analyst (1), Bursar (1) and the Budget Analyst (1).
This position is located at GHC Floyd Campus.
Responsibilities
The Assistant Vice President (AVP) is responsible to understand, support, and carry out the college's mission, vision, and values and comply with mandates and regulations of government and accrediting bodies including:
Oversight of assigned fiscal affairs operations. (50%)
Oversees the Bursar's Office, the Auxiliary Services Office, the Accounting and Accounts Payable Offices, and the Budget Office.
Ensures compliance with all college, state, and federal rules and regulations.
Oversight of preparation and submission of a variety of financial reports. (15%)
Oversees the preparation of the Annual Financial Report, the Budgetary Compliance Report, USG Quarterly Budget and Financial reports
Oversees the timely submission of all other financial reporting to both internal and external agencies.
Record Management of the maintenance of accounting records. (25%)
Oversees and ensures the integrity of the institution's accounting reports.
Performs a variety of related duties. (10%)
Serves as point-of-contact for internal and external auditors.
Performs the duties of the Vice President for Finance and Administration as assigned.
Performs other related duties.
Required Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree; preferably finance or business.
Five (5) years of related experience required.
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license for the type of vehicle or equipment operated
Required to hold a GHC purchasing card which requires a credit check to receive and continue holding a purchasing card.
Preferred Experience - More than five (5) years of experience within the University System of Georgia system in related role(s).
Proposed Salary
Salary is commensurate with experience
This is a full time fully benefitted position.
Some driving for the college will be required.
This position is a Position of Trust and involves working with confidential Information.
