Future Center Advisor
Reporting to the Executive Director, this position is a representative in our Future Center serving students and families in their college and career planning. The Future Center Advisor will work with the counseling team, administration, and faculty to identify, create and prepare students for opportunities beyond high school. When needed, will also serve the community at large in the same manner.
Community Outreach
• Proactively creates and develops positive relationships with all members of the school community (students, teachers, administration, families)
• Works with students and their families to understand the college and career opportunities • Guide students and their parents/guardians through the college admissions and application process.
• Meet individually with student(s) and parents/to explore and identify appropriate options.
• Monitor and track individual student progress throughout the planning process (college, workforce, enlistment). Submit weekly tracking reports.
• Participate in events throughout the year, such as evening college fairs, workshops, college trips, and other events as needed
• Work effectively one-on-one with students and be able to address small or large gatherings of people to discuss the college admission and research process.
• Work with faculty to integrate college-related skills (i.e., essay writing, interviewing, etc.) into regular curricula
•Collect and analyze data from various programs and outreach efforts to determine scope and need of our community
•Other duties as required
General Administrative Duties
•Promotes Future Center efforts on social media, FB, IG, website
•Answer phone calls, in-person, and email inquiries
Outreach Coordinator Requirements
•Bachelor’s degree required
•Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team
•Adaptability, strong initiative and flexibility
•2-3 years’ experience in outreach, communication, education, public relations or related field
•Strong industry knowledge
•Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
•Strong organizational and management skills
• Integrity; good judgment and decision-making abilities, problem-solving skills, and organizational and planning skills.
• Reliability and confidentiality
•Good reporting, technical and statistical skills
•Full-time, approximately 30 hours a week in the schools. Additional office hours as needed.
•Work offsite and remote when needed
•Office schedule follows local schools’ holiday/closing calendar
•Generous PTO package
•Must pass background check, fingerprinting, and drug screening
