Georgia Highlands College is a multi-campus, state college member of the University System of Georgia. Founded in 1970 as Floyd Junior College, it now serves more than 6,000 students in Northwest Georgia and Northeast Alabama across its five locations in Rome, Cartersville, Marietta, and Dallas. Job Summary
In association with the University System of Georgia's African American Male Initiative (AAMI),
this position supports the GHAME initiative (Georgia Highlands African American and Minority Male Excellence) for administrative and student support.
Responsibilities
' Is responsible to understand, support, and carry out the college's mission, vision, and values and comply with mandates and regulations of government and accrediting bodies.
' Performs general administrative duties to including initiating documents as directed, document management (filing), and communications (placing phone calls, maintain contact information)
' Assists with recruiting minority men to Georgia Highlands and to GHAME
' Assists with GHAME activities including marketing of activities
' Represents GHAME at campus and community activities
' Serves as counselor with the Foundation Camp which is a learning and motivational tool for GHAME students
' Monitors student study halls/sessions
• Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
• Must be currently enrolled in a program of study at Georgia Highlands College.'
• Must have knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience with community outreach, social services, or volunteer work is beneficial
Proposed Salary
$12.00 per hour

• Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs
• Ability to work effectively with students and community partners
• Skill in verbal and written communication
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Comfortable making phone calls and reaching out to new contacts
