Job Summary
This position promotes excellence in pedagogy and educational technology in all course modalities by building faculty expertise in educational experiences and supporting the learning management system. This position can be filled as staff or faculty depending on the applicant's current rank and status.
Responsibilities
• Is responsible to understand, support, and carry out the college's mission, vision, and values and comply with mandates and regulations of government and accrediting bodies
• Guides faculty to utilize effective research-based practices in instructional design, pedagogy, and technology by providing related one-on-one support, consultations, and workshops
• Assists faculty to enhance teaching, explore a teaching innovation, or improve student learning
• Consults with faculty to analyze classroom practices, assess teaching and learning needs of courses, and share evidence-based approaches in course design, instruction, and assessment
• Fosters a culture of formative assessment and continuous improvement of teaching practices to enhance student learning
• Develops marketing and communication strategies to engage faculty and staff in CETL programming and services
• Manages and maintains CETL and D2L data for annual reporting.
• Stays up to date on research about faculty development, pedagogical methods, and instructional technologies, and disseminates relevant research and literature to faculty
• Partners with campus constituents to implement both GHC and University System of Georgia (USG) initiatives
• Assists with the design and implementation of new CETL programming and events
• Collaborates with CETL team and assist with projects as needed
• Participates in a variety of committee work at departmental and college level
• Provides management of the LMS holding an administrator lite role in D2L
• Addresses and resolves technology tickets related to the LMS
• Supports technology integrations in the LMS such as Simple Syllabus and third party publisher materials
• Maintains GHC CETL and GHC IT Self Help documentation and resource web pages
• Performs other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
• Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field
• Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the diverse objectives and functions of the subunits in the division/department
• Minimum one (1) year experience in the field of faculty development, educational development, training, organizational development, or leadership development
• Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license for the type of vehicle or equipment operated

• Skills in effective communication, presentation, and facilitation and ability to converse fluently with subject matter experts in diverse academic disciplines.
• Skills to mentor and/or collaborate with others to improve student learning.
• Skills in project and time management to attend to detail and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Skills to provide individual consultation on teaching and learning issues.
• Ability to understand the policies of the University System of Georgia
• Ability to understand the policies and procedures of GHC
