For elementary school aged kids, they can learn about local legends and folklore at the Funk Heritage Center's Youth Workshop and get an introduction to music with the brand new Kids Music Camp at the Falany Performing Arts Center. Funk Heritage Center Youth Workshop
When: June 7 – 9, 9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. each day
For: Children ages 7-11
Cost: $55 per child for members of the Funk Heritage Center, $65 per child for non-members
Children will explore local legends and folklore at the Funk Heritage Center. Each day will begin with a story and will be followed by a day of activities where they will explore and expand on aspects of the story. Kids Music Camp
When: June 13 – 17, 9:30 a.m. – Noon each day
For: Children ages 5-12
Cost: $225 per child
Register your child for Reinhardt's first ever Kids' Music Camp. Held at the Falany Performing Arts Center, campers will learn the basics of music theory, rhythm, keyboard, and choral singing. Hosted by Reinhardt adjunct piano instructor, Marla Bishop, this child will introduce your child to many basic music concepts and culminate in a short performance for parents at the end of the week to show what they have learned. NOYCE DNA Barcoding Summer STEM Experience
When: June 14, 16, 21 from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and June 23 from 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
For: Rising 9th graders and above
Cost: $100 per student (includes lunch)
Students will experience the process of science in this project-based camp and learn about DNA barcoding and the DNA barcoding initiative. DNA barcoding projects will allow students to link molecular genetics to ecology and evolution, with the potential to contribute to new scientific knowledge about biodiversity, conservation biology, and human effects on the environment.
